Wretha Lovelace Greer

Wretha Lovelace Greer, age 93 of Boomer, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023 at her home.  Mrs. Greer was born on February 11, 1930 in Ashe County, North Carolina to the late Arthur Glenn "Boss" and Ina Kathleen Blevins Lovelace.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Edgar Greer, three children, Paul Glenn Greer, Ina Annette Greer and Penny Sue Eastridge, two grandchildren, Ina Rose Greer and Michael Himelright, great-granddaughter, Hailey Eastridge, one brother, Jack Lovelace and one sister, Helen Mae Richardson.

Mrs. Greer is survived by one daughter, Rita Curico of Boomer, grandson who she raised as a son, Richard Wayne Greer of Jefferson, one sister, Mary Kathleen Rose of West Jefferson, 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am Friday, July 21, 2023 at Shelter Baptist Church by Rev. Chris Goodman.  Burial will follow in the Walls Cemetery in Whitetop, VA.  Mrs. Greer will lie in state from 11:00 -11:30 am prior to the service.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the family in care of Rita Curico, 606 Pumpkin Creek Rd., Boomer, NC  28606.
