William E. Bennett

William E. Bennett, age 74 of Grassy Creek, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at his home.  Mr. Bennett was born on May 9, 1948 in Ashe County, NC to the late Virgil and Juanita Marie Lewis Bennett.  In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Bennett.

William proudly served his country in the United States Army, a Vietnam Veteran.  Mr. Bennett was also a member of the American Legion.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching western movies, collecting antiques and he loved his dog, Zoey very much.  William was an outdoorsman and fisherman he had a love for the ocean and boating.  He was also known to love his cigars and a good nap.

Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, July 2, 2022 at the Calhoun Family Cemetery in Creston, North Carolina with military rites.

Mr. Bennett is survived by his daughter, Susan E. Weese and husband, Roger of West Virginia, two grandchildren, Hunter and Kaleb Weese, two sisters, Joan Linsinbigler and husband, Bob and Wilma Pearson and husband, Barry, two brothers, Bobby Bennett and wife, Chris and Danny Bennett.
