Velma Louise (Walters) McMillan

Velma Louise Walters Beshears McMillan, age 88 of West Jefferson died Sunday, September 17, 2017 at her son-in-law’s home.  Mrs. McMillan was born May 30, 1929 in Ashe County to the late Odell and Stella Goodman Walters.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Gene Beshears, second husband, Forrest McMillan, daughter, Sharon Miller, grandson, Gregory Miller, brother, Herbert Walters and sister, Thelma Roten.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, September 22, 2017 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Tim Canup.  Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 1 - 2 PM prior to the service.

Mrs. McMillan is survived by: one step-son, Dean McMillan of Charlotte, one step-daughter, Lois Ann Powell of Charlotte, one son in-law, Mark Miller and wife Linda of West Jefferson, one sister, Doris Edwards of West Jefferson,  two great-grandchildren, Kiana Rain Miller and Dannylyn Rose Miller of Winston-Salem and one niece, Joy Osborne and husband Mike of West Jefferson.
