Robertine (Phipps) Francis

Robertine Phipps Francis, age 93, passed away February 5, 2019 at her home.  Mrs. Francis was born February 27, 1925 in Ashe County to the late James Robert and Lessie Dickson Phipps.  She was married to the late Colonel Elijah Francis.

Mrs. Francis is survived by her son, Ronald P. Francis and wife Glenda of Danville, VA, daughter, Rita F. Scott of the home and friend, Greg Troxell of Fries, VA, grandchildren, Sara Scott Kesterson and husband Michael of Jefferson, Isaac Scott and wife Brittany of Crumpler, Laurel Scott and friend Josh Ring of Sparta and Courtney P. Farmer and husband, Chris of Danville, VA, great-grandchilden, Mason and Major Kesterson, Charleston P. Farmer and Archer A. Scott.  She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews and special friend, Margie Spencer of Rugby, VA.

Private Family services will be held February 6, 2019 at Phipps Store.  Burial will follow in the Wiles Family Cemetery by Elder John Jackson.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
