Richard "Rick" Joseph Wurth Jr.

Richard Joseph Wurth, Jr. better known as Rick age 62 of Lansing passed away on Friday, August 14, 2020 at his home.  Mr. Wurth was born in New York on Monday, March 17, 1958 to Richard Joseph Wurth Sr. and Sandra McDonough Wurth, he was preceded in death by his father.  Rick worked for Leviton for 38 years and most recently at Appalachian State University as an Academic Advisor.  He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church where he sang in the choir.  Rick enjoyed fishing, building things and spending time with his family.

Mr. Wurth is survived by, his wife, Karen Blevins Wurth, two sons, Brother Tommy Wurth and wife, Brooke and Robby Wurth both of Lansing, one daughter, Jenny Wurth of West Jefferson, his mother, Sandra Wurth of Boone, two sisters, Kathy Bennett and husband Terry of West Jefferson and Sandy Starkman and husband, Andrew of New York, two grandchildren, Samuel Wurth and Ethan Aloia and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 17, 2020 at Landmark Baptist Church at 2:00pm by Pastor Fred Steelman, Brother Tommy Wurth and Brother Buster Mullins.  Burial will follow in the Blevins Family Cemetery by Brother Dennis Eller.

The body will lie in state from 1:00-2:00pm one hour prior to the service at the church.

The family is meeting at the home of his mother in-law, Mary Blevins, 3966 Silas Creek Road in Lansing.
