Raymond "Pete" Paul Turnmire

Raymond Paul Turnmire, better known as “Pete”, age 89 of West Jefferson passed away Monday, May 8, 2023 at Alleghany Memorial Hospital. Mr. Turnmire was born on June 7, 1933 in Jefferson to the late Emit Luther and Ada May Turnmire. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and four brothers. Mr. Turnmire worked on the farm his whole life.

Mr. Turnmire is survived by:  two sisters, Ann Stike of Warrensville and Betty McCoy of Crumpler; one brother, Ken Turnmire of Sparta; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 12, 2023 at the Welch Cemetery in Warrensville by Rev. Tommy Dollar. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
