Pearl Roten Eldreth Adkins, age 83 of Creston, passed away Monday, January 31, 2021 at Margate Health & Rehab Center. Mrs. Adkins was born January 9, 1939 in Ashe County to the late Dewey and Ethel Farmer Roten. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Frances Fred Eldreth, second husband, Johnny Adkins, brother, Howard Roten, sister, Laura June Roten and son, Gary Eldreth. Pearl was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved the Lord with all her heart. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She babysat her youngest great-grandchild, Jase, who was the joy of her life. She also enjoyed cooking and working in her flowers.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Big Laurel Church of Christ in Christian Union by Rev. Darrell Graybeal and Rev. Terry Woods. Burial will follow in the Farmer Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00- 2:00 pm prior to the service.
Mrs. Adkins is survived by her daughter, Brenda Eldreth of Mtn. City, TN, sons, Larry Eldreth of Creston and Kenny Eldreth of West Jefferson and brother, Johnny David Roten of Florida. 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
