Olive Ruth (Lewis) Carpenter

Olive Ruth Lewis Carpenter, age 90 of Lansing, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Margate Health and Rehab. Mrs. Carpenter was born on March 15, 1930 in Ashe County to David and Margaret Ham Lewis. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur Edward Carpenter; two sons, Ricky Edward Carpenter and Bobby Gene Carpenter; one grandson, Derick Edward Carpenter; and all her brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Carpenter enjoyed listening to music and spending time with her family. She was always a happy person even when life was tough.

Mrs. Carpenter is survived by:  one daughter, Sharon Huffman of Lansing; one son, Bennie Carpenter of Lansing; also surviving are 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild on the way and several nieces and nephews.

A private burial will be held in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
