Nancy Jo (Jones) Love

Nancy Jo Love (born as Nancy Jo Jones), daughter of Nan and Jimmy Jones, passed away on May 22, 2020 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. A private ceremony will be held at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel and Gardens in Jefferson, NC.  Nancy Jo was born June 23, 1944 in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. She spent some time growing up in Kentucky and moved to Florida when she was a teenager. Nancy Jo was Miss Terry Parker High School in Jacksonville, Florida.  She attended Florida State University where she was a sister at Kappa Alpha Theta and crowned Miss Tallahassee, then runner-up in Miss Florida. Nancy Jo received a BA in childhood education and after graduating became a stewardess for Pan Am Airlines then became a teacher. Later in life, she received her Masters in Marriage and Family Counseling from Regent University, had a private practice and was a guidance counselor. She retired from South Daytona Elementary School in 2012. She was an amazing mother, and human being, she loved God with all her heart and shared love with everyone she knew. She enjoyed her family, gardening, cooking, and sharing her love and faith with others.

Nancy Jo is survived by her daughter, Gabrielle Harrison and son in law Joey Harrison, and her son, Brandon Smith and her daughter in law Chrissy Smith. She has 6 grandchildren, Luke and Sophia Shafer (children of Gabrielle), and Breanna, Christian, Braden, and Christianna Smith (children of Brandon and Chrissy Smith).
