Mary W. May

Mary W. May, age 83 of Lansing, died Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Margate Health and Rehab Center.  Mrs. May was born Saturday, October 12, 1935 in Ashe County to the late Samuel Columbus and Bessie Phillips Watson.  Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Dawes May as well as four sisters, Ora, Rita, Katherine  and Louise.  One brother, Howard also preceded her in death.  Mary enjoyed reading, quilting and working in her flowers.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 in the afternoon on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Sammy Church.  Burial will follow in the Jones Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. May is survived by, two daughters; Cynthia Ham and fiance, Eddie Baker of Glendale Springs, and Bessie May-Komm and her husband, Rudolf of Longmont, Colorado, three sisters; Evelyn Neaves of Reidsville, Arlee Brown and husband, Bob and Violet Osborne both of Maryland, three grandchildren; Bradley Ham, Daniel Ham and Clifford Farmer.  Three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
