Mary Jane (Woodard) Faircloth

Mary Jane Woodard Faircloth, age 80 of Creston, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at her home. Mrs. Faircloth was born on March 29, 1940 in Ashe County to Lester and Ruby Woodard. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy Fraymon Faircloth; sisters, Grace Woodard, Pauline Stowers, Annie Belle Lewis, and Barbara Roten; brothers, L.J. Woodard, Hoover Woodard, and Earl Woodard; and two infant siblings, Leroy and Faye.

Mrs. Faircloth enjoyed canning, quilting, working in her flowers, and feeding the birds. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Faircloth is survived by:  two sons, James Faircloth (Donna) of West Jefferson and Lester Faircloth (Lori) of Mountain City, TN; five daughters, Amanda Faircloth (Roscoe) of the home, Linda Potter (Martin) of Zionville, Kay Phillips (Randy) of Jefferson, Janet Osborne (Joe) of Wilkesboro, and Lisa Hurley (Junior) of Mountain City, TN; two brothers, Bill Woodard and Glenn Woodard, both of Mountain City, TN; also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Three Top Baptist Church by Rev. Frank Rash. Burial will follow in the Woodard Cemetery.

Mrs. Faircloth will lie in state beginning at 6:00 pm on Friday, August 7, 2020 at the homeplace at 1915 Ben Bolen Road in Creston.

Flowers will be accepted.
