Mary Jane (Hoosier) Dougherty

Mary Jane Hoosier Dougherty, age 84 of Warrensville, passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Margate Health and Rehab. Mrs. Dougherty was born on May 4, 1935 in Clifton, NC to Frank and Alice Dora Stanley Hoosier. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walter Ray Dougherty, and siblings, Ada Faircloth, Charles Hoosier, Blanche Shoemake, Bell Moses, Flossie Eastridge, Barney Hoosier, Earl Hoosier and great-granddaughter, Meagan Price.

Mrs. Dougherty was a member of Clifton United Methodist Church. She enjoyed going to the singings of Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys. She also enjoyed canning.

Mrs. Dougherty is survived by:  a son, Gary Dougherty and wife Annette of Jefferson; three daughters, Maxine Hoosier and husband James of Lansing, Carol Jones and husband Walter of Warrensville, and Lisa Dougherty of Warrensville; five grandchildren, Johnny Hoosier, Jennifer Price, Joy Smith, Paul Dougherty, and Michael Jones; five great-grandchildren, Brook Price, Benjamin Dougherty, Addison and Eli Jones, and Carson Dougherty; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 11, 2019 at 3:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. J.C. Darnell. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Friday, October 11, 2019 prior to the funeral service at Ashelawn.
