Linda Eldreth Wilson

Linda Eldreth Wilson, age 69 of Creston, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at her home.  Mrs. Wilson was born January 23, 1953 in Ashe County to the late Johnny (Dale) and Chessie Cox Eldreth.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her nephew, Michael Eldreth and several aunts and uncles.  Linda was a devoted Christian who was very active in her church.  Throughout her high school years she was dedicated to working toward obtaining her bachelor’s degree from North Carolina Baptist Hospital School of Nursing and immediately started her career in Mountain City, TN.  She retired from nursing after 36 plus years.  She selflessly volunteered her time and nursing skills providing care to members of the community for over 30 years as well as taking on the role of caregiver to her mother.  Linda was someone that could be called upon for help anytime day or night.  She was a first responder and member of both Pond Mountain and Creston Fire Departments also serving as secretary.  She and her husband Louie responded to countless calls together.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, August 1, 2022 at Big Laurel Mennonite Church by Rev. Kirby Herman and Rev. Darrell Graybeal.  Burial will follow in the Davis-Cox Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:00 pm prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Wilson is survived by her husband, John Louis Wilson "Louie", one son, Steve Osborne and wife Amy of Crumpler, daughter, Joy Logan of Utah, brother, Rob Eldreth and wife Nancy of West Jefferson, grandchildren, Cody and Landon Osborne and Tierney and Keagan Logan and niece, Missy Severt.
