Lena Lucille (Day) Turner

Lena Lucille Day Turner, age 88 of West Jefferson, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at her home. Mrs. Turner was born on September 26, 1933 in Ashe County to Walter Franklin Day and Ola Marie Elliott Day. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lillard Turner, a son, Randy Turner, two brothers, Worth Day and Harold Day, and a sister, Linda Harrison.

Mrs. Turner is survived by:  daughter in-law, Martha Turner of Jefferson, daughter, Regina Brown (Mike) of Clayton, NC; two granddaughters, Laura Turner of Jefferson and Stephanie Carroll of Clayton, NC and one grandson, William Brown of Clayton, NC; three brothers, Roger Day, Lloyd Day, and Danny Day, all of West Jefferson, NC; three sisters, Donna Day of Marion, Virginia, Phyllis Kimbell and Barbara Mitzel, both of West Jefferson, NC; also surviving are six great-grandchildren several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 3:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Billy Joe Blevins and Rev. Lloyd Day. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Turner will lie in state from 1:00-2:00 pm Saturday at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.

The family asks that those who attend the service please wear a mask.
