Kenny Ray Wyatt, age 54 of Seattle, Washington, formerly of Ashe County passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at his home.  Kenny was born in Ashe County, North Carolina on Wednesday, February 9, 1966 to Harold Ray and Toy Arlene Hartzog Wyatt.  He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents, Ken and Nenie Wyatt and Guy and Hazel Hartzog.

Formerly of Ashe County, Mr. Wyatt was a member of Bald Mountain Baptist Church.  Since 2014 he served as a financial administrator with Horizon Church and Bible College of Ministry in Seattle, Washington.  Kenny’s life was filled with accomplishments as he was the valedictorian of Beaver Creek High School’s 1984 graduating class.  He enjoyed working with computers, loved to read, studied chemistry and was interested in astronomy.  Kenny spoke a variety of languages as he made it a point to learn the language of wherever he traveled, lived or served in the mission field.

He is survived by his mother, Toy Hartzog Wyatt of West Jefferson, sister, Sandra Wyatt Johnson of West Jefferson and friend, Mike Little as well as one nephew, Stephen Burchette of West Jefferson.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 24, 2020 at 11:00 am at Bald Mountain Baptist Church by Rev. John Elledge.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Wyatt’s body will lie in state on Thursday, July 23rd, one day prior to the service from 9:00 am-4:00 pm at Badger Funeral Home.  Friends and relatives that wish to view are invited to come by between those times.

In lieu of food or flowers, memorials may be made to Bald Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery or Building Fund; 1435 Bald Mountain Rd. West Jefferson, NC 28694, Horizon Church; 602 Valley Street, Seattle, WA 98109 or to the family c/o Badger Funeral Home; 300 East Main St., West Jefferson, NC 28694.
