Kathy Elaine (Bloom) Davis

Kathy Elaine Bloom Davis, age 81 of Myrtle Beach passed away on May 13, 2023 at Margate Health and Rehab in Jefferson, North Carolina.  Mrs. Davis was born on October 31, 1941 in Anderson, Indiana to the late Theodore Browning and Elain Neudorff Bloom.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by one son, Theodore James Demas.

Kathy was a passionate backyard birdwatcher, lover of antiques, and a warm-hearted soul.  She was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many through her love for animals, and deep appreciation for the world around her.  These qualities flowed naturally out of her love for God and abiding devotion to her relationship with Jesus Christ. Throughout the ups and downs of her long life, she never questioned the nearness or faithful love of her Creator. Mrs. Davis never met a stranger, and her interactions with others often overflowed with words of hope and encouragement in the Lord to those who were struggling through hard seasons. She blessed many throughout her life by leading neighborhood Bible studies and offering uplifting truth through her words, notes and letters.  Mrs. Davis graduated from DePauw University in 1963 with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing, where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega.  Kathy had an eye for beauty and history, making antique collecting a special hobby of hers. Her love for animals was another remarkable aspect of Kathy’s character. Dogs and cats held a special place in her heart, and her home was a haven for countless furry companions over the years. What truly set Kathy apart was her unwavering love for people. She possessed an innate ability to connect with others, displaying a genuine interest in their lives. She relished in meeting new people, engaging in heartfelt conversations, and listening intently to their stories. Kathy's warm smile and compassionate nature created an atmosphere of comfort and acceptance, making her a trusted confidante and dear friend to many.  She was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many, and will be missed deeply by her family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Mrs. Davis is survived by two sons, Christopher Demas and wife, Jocarole of Greensboro, Georgia and Andrew Demas and life partner, Stephanie Stolt of Crumpler, North Carolina, four grandchildren, Caleb Demas and wife, Maria of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, William Demas of Middletown, Maryland, Alex Demas of London, England and Rachel Bills and husband, Derrick of Charlotte, North Carolina.

The family would like to extend their great appreciation to Margate Health and Rehab as well as The Landings of Chestnut Grove in Sparta.
