Joseph Jackson Francis better known as “Joe” age 73 of Warrensville died Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Francis was born in Ashe County on June 27, 1944 to Albert Worth and Connie Yvonne Brooks Francis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four infant siblings. His church family at Pine Grove Baptist Church was very important to Joe where he has been a member for 48 years. Joe had a wonderful sense of humor, and was an honest, loving friend and neighbor.  In his spare time he liked watching Atlanta Braves Baseball, spending time outside in nature, working in wood and listening to Bluegrass Gospel music. Mr. Francis was a wonderful, loving, husband, father, brother and grandfather.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 7:00 pm at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Fred Richardson and Rev. Tommy Dollar. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm prior to the service at Badger Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 at 11:00 at the Brooks Cemetery in Warrensville.

Mr. Francis is survived by: his wife of 51 years, Shirley McMeans Francis, three daughters, Katrina Roland and husband Mike of Warrensville, Shauna Powers and husband Mike of Lansing and Julie Francis and fiancée Ronda Nichols of Warrensville, one son, Jody Francis of Warrensville, one brother, Rev. Jim Francis and wife Dot of Warrensville, one sister, Mary Osborne and husband Clyde of Creston; also surviving are four grandchildren, Brandon Calhoun, Bradley Roland, Kendra Powers, Landon Powers, four great-grandchildren, Keith Calhoun, Carson Royal, Titus Calhoun, Isiah Calhoun, his fur buddy, Levi, and several nieces and nephews.
