Joseph David Rash

Joseph David Rash, better known as David, age 60 of Creston passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at his home. Mr. Rash was born on April 13, 1961 in Ashe County to Joseph and Mary Rash. He was preceded in death by his father, two nephews, Joey Gilley and Timmy Gilley, paternal grandparents, Charles and Marie Rash, and maternal grandparents, Conley and Lucille Campbell.

David enjoyed collecting watches, going to church, and spending time with family and friends.

Mr Rash is survived by:  his mother, Mary Rash of Creston, one brother, Robert Rash of Creston, one sister, Sheila Ann Gilley and husband Steve of Warrensville. Also surviving are two nieces, one nephew, four great-nieces, one great-nephew, two great-great-nieces, one great-great-nephew, several aunts and uncles, and a special caregiver, Sarah Hass.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Lloyd Day, Rev. Jason Miller, and Rev. Darrell Graybeal. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Thursday, May 27, 2021 prior to the funeral service at Ashelawn.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the family in care of Ashelawn Memorial Chapel, 3470 U.S. Highway 221 North, Jefferson, NC 28640.
