Obituary

John William McCoy, Jr. better known “Bill” age 75 of Creston died Saturday, December 26, 2020 at his home.

Mr. McCoy was born on July 2, 1945 in Ashe County to J.D. McCoy, Sr. and Mary Lee Joines McCoy. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and his wife, Libby Rash McCoy. 

He worked as a truck driver for many years, driving for Maymead and Vannoy Construction. 

Mr. McCoy is survived by: his fiancée and caregiver, Elaine Brewer; one son, Steve McCoy; one sister, Evelyn Scott of Florida; one brother, Walter McCoy of West Jefferson; two nieces and two nephews also survive.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Gardens by Rev. Spencer Roark and Rev. Mike Farmer.

The family respectfully requests no food or flowers and that anyone attending the service please wear a face covering.
