John Richard Church

John Richard Church, age 92 of Rock Creek, formerly of Ashe County, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Hugh Chatham Hospital in Elkin.  Mr. Church was born in Ashe County, North Carolina on March 11, 1930 to the late James Monroe and Effie Mae Brooks Church.  In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters as well as his wife, Pearl Dillard Church.

Mr. Church is survived by three sons, Jimmy Church of Wilkesboro, Ricky Church of Rock Creek and Tony Church of Millers Creek.  Four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 2:00pm at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Lloyd Day.  Burial will follow in the Scott-Blevins Cemetery with Military Rites. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm one hour prior to the service.
