Jay Oliver

William Jay Oliver better known as Jay age 71 of Lansing passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at James H. Quillen VA Medical Center in Mountain Home, TN.

Jay was born on June 9, 1949 in Ashe County to the late Roscoe and Ruth Stamper Oliver. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by six brothers, Joe, Jack, Jim, John, Jerry and Jeff Oliver.

Mr. Oliver retired from Gates Rubber Company and during his retirement he spent many days working on equipment and small engines for many friends and neighbors.

Mr. Oliver is survived by: his wife, Brenda Oliver, daughter, Monica Oliver, and son, Jason Oliver (Shannon). Jay is also survived by one sister, Judy Miller and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Howell Hill Cemetery by Rev. David Testerman.

Mr. Oliver will lie in state on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Badger Funeral Home.

The family respectfully request no food please.
