Wayne was a devout member of Wolf Knob Baptist Church, where his faith in God was central to his life. He served the congregation as a dedicated deacon and Sunday school teacher, enriching the lives of many through his wisdom and devotion to the teachings of Christ.
Professionally, he dedicated 33 years of his life to Sprague Electric, later United Chemi-Con, where he excelled as a design machinist. Wayne's commitment to service extended beyond the workplace; he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He underwent basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky, and was later assigned to the prestigious 3rd Armored Division.
Amidst his professional and military endeavors, Wayne's greatest joy came from spending time with his beloved family. His gentle spirit, unwavering kindness, and quick wit endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In Wayne's departure, the community has lost a pillar of faith, a diligent worker, and a devoted family man. His legacy of love, integrity, and service will continue to inspire all who were touched by his life.
The Elliott family expresses deep gratitude to Wayne's brother-in-law, Mark Emerson, and the compassionate staff at Grayson Nursing and Rehab Center for their unwavering care and support during Wayne's final days.
