Dwayne Aaron Cox, also known as brother, age 60 of West Jefferson, died Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Watauga Medical Center. Mr. Cox was born August 15, 1961 in Alamance County to Walter Dwayne and Anna Belle Woodie Cox. He was preceded in death by his father. Dwayne was a loving husband, son, brother, father and grandfather. He was a fun loving person who never met a stranger. He attended Obids Baptist Church. He loved to fish, sing, listen to bluegrass gospel music and play his mandolin. He owned and operated Sunshine Tooling and was a certified tool maker. He also worked for Jeld-Wen. He will be greatly missed by neighbors and friends in the community.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Obids Baptist Church by Rev. Mark Harless.
Mr. Cox is survived by, his wife, Beverly Severt Cox, son, Aaron Cox of Laurel Springs, his mother, Anna Belle Cox of West Jefferson, sister, Arna Toliver of Todd, brother, Kenneth Cox of West Jefferson. 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
