Cheryl Ann (Sexton) Roark

Cheryl Ann Sexton Roark age 63 of Lansing died Friday, August 14, 2020 at Forsyth Medical Center.  Cheryl was born April 5, 1957 in Ashe County to John and Thelma Powers Sexton.  She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Chrystal Hartzog.  Cheryl enjoyed serving her community as a first responder with the Fire Department. She was always willing to volunteer with various organizations, including participating in fund raisers for the youth and needy.  She also enjoyed sewing, crafting, quilting, gardening and canning.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and keeping up traditions most of all.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, August 20, 2020 at the Sexton Cemetery by Rev. Lloyd Day.

Mrs. Roark is survived by, her husband, Robert Roark, grandson, Timothy Hartzog Jr. of Lansing, step-sons, Tony Roark and wife Sarah of West Jefferson and Michael Roark of Warrensville, brothers, Terry Sexton and wife Debbie of Warrensville and Rick Sexton of West Jefferson.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family c/o Badger Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St., West Jefferson, NC  28694.

The family will be meeting at the home of Terry Sexton at 111 Copeland Rd. in Warrensville.  Friends may call at any time.
