Arlene (Campbell) Nichols

Arlene Campbell Nichols, age 81 of Creston passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Duke University Hospital.  Mrs. Nichols was born on December 21, 1941 in Ashe County, North Carolina to the late, Paul and Hattie Francis Campbell.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Worth Glyda Nichols, brother, Dallas Campbell, sister, Roseanne Calhoun, her son, Michael Nichols, granddaughter, Wendy Nichols and great-granddaughter, Ashlyn Elliott.

Arlene was a talented gardener, and amazing cook.  She was greatly admired by her family for always giving the best advice.  Mrs. Nichols will be remembered as "mom" to most everyone she met.

Mrs. Nichols is survived by one son Randall Nichols of Creston, one daughter, Marcia Goss of Millers Creek, five sisters, Betty Howell of Crumpler, Sue Miller and Maureen Baxley both of IL, Mary Johnson and Bobbie Miller both of Jefferson, one brother, David Campbell of Creston, three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 1:00pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00pm on Wednesday one hour prior to the service.
