Angelina Mae Pickelsimer Coldiron

Angelina Mae Pickelsimer Coldiron, age 26 of Jefferson, died Friday, June 18, 2021 at her home.  Angelina was born February 26, 1995 to David and Paula Pickelsimer. Six months later, Angelina arrived at the home of David and Bendena Coldiron who became her forever family in her forever home. She was quickly met with hugs, kisses, and lots and lots of love by her older brother, Shea and sister, Angel.  Angelina has often been described as being disabled or having special needs. We feel her only disability has been dealing with people that refused to see her as the person with a purpose that God created. As far as special needs go, she had special needs—needs to be held, loved, surrounded by people, go places, laugh at church, and attend every social function possible while working her way into the hearts of everyone she met.  She loved going to school, but going to church was the real joy of her life.  She took her family on many journeys of doctors, tests, hospitals, and meeting parents of other children who had similar lives. These journeys led to many friendships and relationships that will forever be remembered!

Angelina was preceded in death by her loving father David Coldiron, paternal grandmother, Beth Absher and maternal grandparents, Rev. Jack and Lillin Miller.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday, June 20, 2021 at Midway Baptist Church by Pastor Steve Leashomb.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Miss Coldiron will lie in state from 3 – 4 pm prior to the service.  The family will not be present.

She is survived by her mother Bendena Coldiron, brother Shea Coldiron (Shannon), sister Angel Nelson, brother Dalton Coldiron, sister Krissey Rose Coldiron and two nieces Carolyn and Maura Coldiron  all of Jefferson, NC.

Memorials may made to: “The Angelina P. Coldiron Memorial Scholarship” c/o Wilkes Community College Foundation, PO Box 120, Wilkesboro, NC  28697. Purpose: to support Ashe County students in health sciences and nursing.
