Scottie Dale Weaver, age 53 of Lansing, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025. Mr. Weaver was born on January 14, 2025 in Ashe County to the late Roger Dale and Retha Nichols Weaver.
Scottie Weaver was a true outdoorsman and a country boy at heart. He found his greatest joy in the simple things—hunting in the quiet woods, riding four-wheelers down familiar back roads, and spending time camping under open skies. Those who knew Scottie knew a man who loved the land he lived on and the people around him.
Scottie was the kind of person you could always count on. Straightforward and honest, he never left you wondering where you stood with him. His heart for helping others showed most clearly during Hurricane Helene, when he spent hours riding his four-wheeler through flooded and blocked roads to deliver meals to neighbors in need. That was simply who he was—steady, dependable, and willing to lend a hand without hesitation.
For 23 years, Scottie shared his life with his wife, Jessica. Their bond was strong, built on love, laughter, and the countless everyday moments they cherished together.
Mr. Weaver is survived by: his wife, Jessica Taylor; an uncle, Ronda Nichols; special friend, Mack Miller; several cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 20, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Meadowview Mennonite Church by Rev. Dan Hess. Burial will follow in the Weaver Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the family in care of Ashelawn Memorial Chapel, 3470 U.S. Highway 221 North, Jefferson, NC 28640.
