Sadie Ann (Lyalls) Craven

Sadie Ann Lyalls Craven, age 77 of West Jefferson, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at her home. Mrs. Craven was born on September 30, 1946 in Ashe County, the beloved daughter of Robert Clint Lyalls and Ressie Hamby Lyalls. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Ima Jean Parsons, and a brother, Robert Bruce Lyalls.

Sadie was a faithful and beloved member of Calvary Free Will Baptist Church, where she found solace and community in her faith.

Sadie was known for her unwavering work ethic and took great pride in her work. She enjoyed tending to her cherished flowers and creating beautiful crafts that brought joy to those around her.

One of Sadie's greatest joys in life was spending time with her family, and she treasured every moment she shared with her loved ones. She also enjoyed spending time with her beloved dog, Gigi, who brought her endless comfort and joy.

She is survived by:  her husband Johnny Craven; one son, Steve Craven (Diana) of West Jefferson; two grandchildren, Kendra Craven Costner (Kelby), and Keaton Craven (Ashton); a great-granddaughter, Maggie Craven; her beloved dog, Gigi; also surviving are one niece and two nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 29, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Mark Harless, Rev. Tommy Dollar, and Rev. Frank Woods. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.

Sadie Ann Lyalls Craven will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for her family and friends will always be remembered and cherished.
