Ruth Richardson

Ruth Richardson age 98 of Lansing, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023 at her niece’s home.  Ms. Richardson was born December 26, 1924 in Ashe County to the late Wilda Lee and Mary Alberta Miller Richardson.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by brothers, Carl Richardson, Charlie Babe Richardson, Smith Richardson, Earl Miller, Wells Richardson, Wayne Richardson, Elmer Richardson and Roey Miller, sisters, Pearl Richardson Rupard, Opal Richardson, Laura Richardson and Clyde Taylor.

She enjoyed crafting, farming, reading her Bible and visiting with friends and neighbors.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, February 19, 2023 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Minister Danny Miller, Minister David Lyalls and Rev. Steve Ashley.  Graveside committal service will follow in the Thompson-Tucker Cemetery by Rev. Lloyd Day. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 pm prior to the service.

Miss Richardson is survived by, a special nephew, Johnny Richardson, a special niece, Phyllis Ashley, her brother, Herbert Richardson and wife Betty of West Jefferson. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
