Rebecca Ann Jones

Rebecca Ann Jones of Jefferson, North Carolina, peacefully departed from this world on March 4, 2024. She was born on October 30, 1950, in Whitetop, Virginia to the late Lonnie Ray and Inus Farmer Wyatt.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Brenda Taylor. Rebecca led a quiet and private life, but her impact on the hearts of those who knew her was immeasurable.

Rebecca was a loving mother, sister and grandmother. Her journey through life was marked by a profound devotion to her family, and her grandchildren held a special place in her heart that was beyond measure. She found joy in the simple moments spent with them, creating cherished memories that will forever endure.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her children, Shelia Hobbs of Warrensville and Rick Calhoun of Charleston, SC, two sisters, Judith Simcox of West Jefferson and Kay Roten of Crumpler, three grandchildren, Joshua, Zachary and Dakota and her great-grandchild, Frankie Alice.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at 2:00pm at Whitetop Baptist Church by Rev. Zachary Calhoun and Rev. Danny Farmer.  Burial will follow in the Whitetop Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm one hour prior to the service at the church.

Flowers will be accepted.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and the enduring impact of a life quietly but profoundly lived.
