Mary Brown Holman, age 75 of Fleetwood passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at her home. She was born on March 12, 1950 in Elkton, Maryland to the late David Richard and Myrtle Goodman Brown. Mary dedicated 43½ years of her life to the nursing profession, serving as an ICU Pediatric Nurse at Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion, Virginia. Nursing was more than a career to her—it was a calling. She cared for her patients with skill, gentleness, and an unwavering commitment, always offering comfort not only to those in her care but also to their families.

On January 25, 1974, Mary married the love of her life, William “Danny” Holman, and together they shared a life built on faith, love, and devotion.

A woman of deep faith, Mary was a faithful member of Orion Baptist Church, where she joyfully taught Sunday School and lived out her love for Christ each day. Above all else, she loved her Lord and Savior, and she was known by many as a tremendous prayer warrior, faithfully lifting others up in prayer and encouragement.

Mary found joy in fishing, spending time outdoors, and golfing, and she also had a special love for Boston Terriers. She was always caring for her family and friends, placing the needs of others before her own and offering help, kindness, and a listening ear whenever it was needed.
