Mary Ann Greer

Mary Ann Greer, age 77, of Warrensville, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Margate Health & Rehab Center. Miss Greer was born in Ashe County to the late Lester and Ethel Ina Elliott Greer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Greer, Jones Greer and a niece, Ina Barker.

Mary Ann was a remarkable soul who defied early expectations, living a long and joy-filled life. Though she was special needs, she was blessed with a loving nature, a kind spirit, and a heartwarming smile that she shared with everyone around her. She was always upbeat and easygoing, and brought joy to her family and caregivers alike. She especially loved coloring and doing crafts, and took tender care of her baby dolls, whom she loved as her own children.  Mary Ann enjoyed going to work at ADAP and worked there until it's closure.  She was a dedicated member of Pleasant Chapel Baptist Church and later attended Phoenix Baptist Church.

She is survived by one brother, Howard Greer of Oklahoma; nephews, Charles Greer of Warrensville and Steve Greer of Oklahoma; a niece, Kathy McGill of Oklahoma; as well as several great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Tom Graybeal and Carson Williams.  Burial will follow in the Pleasant Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 am prior to the service.
