Martin Hayes Baker

Martin Haynes Baker, age 67 of Sparta; passed away Monday, December 8th, 2025 at Watauga Medical Center in Boone, NC.

Martin was born August 11th, 1958 in Ashe County to the late Darius Dale Baker and Nancy Ellen Testerman Baker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons: Joshua Aaron Baker and Jeremy Adam Baker.

Martin was a skilled carpenter by trade. He enjoyed hunting, Bee Keeping, and the outdoors. Above all, he cherished every moment with his family. Martin was also a member of Healing Springs Baptist Church in Crumpler.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Regina C. Baker of the home; two grandchildren: Matthew Alan Lambert of Kingsport, TN and Taylor Haynes Baker Bailey of Arizona; two sisters: Diana Choate and husband Brian of Sparta, Patsy Roark of Winston-Salem; two nieces: Nikki Roark of Winston-Salem, Brandy Greene and husband Timothy of Lenoir; two nephews: Terry Ray Hale, Jr. and companion Jenn of Wilkesboro, Holley Dale Roark and wife Tonya of Crumpler.

No formal services will be held.
