Linda Lee (Miller) Ball

Linda Lee Miller Ball, age 78 of Grassy Creek, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 9, at her home. Born in Ashe County, NC on Thursday, September 28, 1944 to the late Monroe and Hazel Eldreth Miller. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by, brother, Eddie Miller and a sister, Betty Faye Lambert.

After completing her education at Ashe Central High School in 1963, she joined Hanes (Sara Lee) Knit Products and remained a dedicated employee until the unfortunate closure of the plant. Undeterred by the setback, Linda embraced new opportunities and found fulfillment working with B & B Swimwear until its closure as well. Beyond her professional life, Linda found solace and fulfillment in her beloved garden. Faith played an essential role in Linda's life, and she was a member of Sturgills Baptist Church. Linda will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family and friends. She possessed a warm smile that could light up any room and a compassionate nature that provided comfort to those in need.

Mrs. Ball is survived by: her husband, David Ball, two sons, Jeff Miller and wife Cara of West Jefferson and David M. Ball better known as Pickle and wife Pamela of Lansing, one brother, Jack Miller and wife Judy of Jefferson, three sisters, Josephine “Jo” Hurley and husband Bill of Jefferson, Jean Kilby of Winston Salem, and Sue Hardin of West Jefferson, six grandchildren, Brittany Alff of Fleetwood, Makayla Rosenberger of Texas, Cami Pruitt of Shelby, Amber Miller of West Jefferson, Criss Pruitt of West Jefferson, Lane Ball of Lansing, one great-granddaughter, Sadie Alff of Fleetwood and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Lloyd Day. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 pm prior to the service.
