Lester Cobb Jr.

Lester Cobb Jr., a beloved member of his family and community, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2025, at Forest Ridge Assisted Living in West Jefferson, North Carolina. Born on April 14, 1943, in Greenville, North Carolina, Lester was known for his kind spirit and unwavering dedication to his loved ones.

Lester is survived by his cherished brother, William Stephen Cobb Sr. (Judi) of Greenville, NC; his dear aunt, Eleanor Joyce Bundy of Farmville, NC; and cousins Joy Bundy of Farmville, NC, Rick Bundy (Judy) of Garner, NC, and Jeff Bundy of Durham, NC. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews: Chris Bullock (Angie) of Fountain, NC; Steve Cobb (Patty) of Lansing, NC; Denise Barber (Marty) of Tarboro, NC; and Jennifer Coggins (Chad) of Farmville, NC. In addition, Lester cherished his great nieces, nephews, and cousins, including Taylor Cobb, Kasey Rawn, Jordan Cobb, Daniel Bundy, Samual Bundy, Trey Cobb, Ella Coggins, Eli Coggins, Emmi Coggins, Madisyn Barber, Cameron Barber (Tiffany), Hunter Barber (Ashley), and Julie Ann Barber.

Lester was preceded in death by his father, Lester Marion Cobb; his mother, Nina Ruth Clark Cobb; his sister, Alice Faye Cobb Bullock; his grandmother, Rosa Olivia Meeks Clark; his grandfather, William Leslie Clark; as well as aunts and uncles, Rosa Doll Clark, Millie Brand Clark, Richard Marvin Bundy Sr., and William (Bill) Leslie Clark Jr.

A memorial service will be held on June 1, 2025, at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church in West Jefferson by Rev. Michael Lea.

Les' affection for his fur babies knew no bounds. He opened his heart and home to multiple rescues, providing them with a loving and stable environment.  He was dedicated to their care and well-being.  They brought him immeasurable joy.

Les also had a great love and admiration for the mission of SHOES FOR KIDS.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to SHOES FOR KIDS, 347 Paddy Ave., West Jefferson, NC  28694.

Lester Cobb Jr. will be remembered for the love he shared with his family and friends, and the profound impact he had on the lives of those who knew him. His legacy of kindness and dedication will live on in the hearts of his family and community.
