Kenny James Blevins

Kenny James Blevins, age 55, of Sparta, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, surrounded by the family he loved so deeply. Born on October 17, 1969, in Ashe County, Kenny lived a life rooted in faith, kindness, and selflessness.

Kenny's faith and family were the cornerstones of his life. He cherished his mother dearly and was always putting the needs of others before his own. A devoted church member, Kenny attended both Laurel Springs Baptist Church and Cornerstone Christian Fellowship, where he found joy and purpose in serving and fellowshipping with his church families.

He was especially passionate about the KOZ (Kids Outdoor Zone) ministry, where he mentored young men and helped guide them to become faithful leaders in their homes and communities. Kenny believed in leading by example, and his life was a testament to integrity, compassion, and quiet strength.

Kenny spent over 33 years working with Food Lion, where his work ethic and dedication earned him deep respect from colleagues who became like a second family to him. Always dependable and efficient, he left a lasting impact on those he worked with, not just for his professionalism but for his humor and heart.

Known for being a practical joker, Kenny loved to laugh and share joy with those around him. He believed in living simply and purposefully, often saying, "Good Family, Good Friends, Good Memories."

Left to cherish his memory are, his wife of 21 years, Amanda Lynn Blevins; son, Dalton James Blevins, daughter, Olivia Lynn Blevins, son Andrew Caleb Blevins, all of Sparta; stepson, Sylvan Kilby (Abby) of Ashe County; his mother, Mary Blevins of Lansing; two grandchildren, Ileana Wynter Kilby and Waylon Gray Kilby; brother, Gary Blevins of Lansing; several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.
