Kenneth Warren Spencer

Kenneth Warren Spencer also known as Kenny age 72 of Lansing the Helton Community passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at his home. Mr. Spencer was born on April 23, 1951 in Ashe County, North Carolina to the late John Troy and Helen Martha Weaver Spencer.  In addition to his parents Kenneth was also preceded in death by one brother James Edward Spencer and his wife, Geneva Carol Spencer.

Kenny enjoyed working with his hands and being outside. He was an excellent fisherman and crafted beautiful furniture for each of his children that they enjoy today. Some of his favorite times were spent with his grandchildren doing simple projects around the house. He loved to read and always had a Western novel in hand. His beautiful lawn and bountiful garden were a testament to his dedicated, quiet commitment to doing things well. He used the same approach to loving and  caring for his family.  He will be greatly missed here, but was looking forward to being with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and reunited with Geneva in heaven.

Mr. Spencer is survived by one son, Greg Spencer (Crystal) of West Jefferson, two daughters, Kelly Witherspoon (Mario) of Purlear and Mandy Walls (David) of West Jefferson, two grandchildren, Gregory Spencer and Chloe Witherspoon, three sisters, Freida Barker of Warrensville, Linda Richardson (Lowell) of Rugby, VA, and Patricia Wyatt (Ronnie) of Lansing and several nieces also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 19, 2024 at 1:00pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Lloyd Day and Pastor Michael Greer. Burial will follow in Spencer Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm prior to the service at Ashelawn.
