Kenneth Lyalls

Kenneth Lyalls, age 74, of Jefferson, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

Mr. Lyalls was born on October 9, 1951 in Ashe County to the late James Arvel and Lorene Howell Lyalls.

Kenneth loved running heavy equipment and had a remarkable talent for taking anything apart and putting it back together. He enjoyed watching old westerns, riding motorcycles, and spending time with friends and family.

He was a proud Mason and a member of Ashe Lodge #594, an Oasis Shriner, and an active member of the Ashe Shrine Club. Kenneth also served his community faithfully through his years with the Jefferson Volunteer Fire Department, where he retired after serving as Fire Chief.

Known for his kind and gentle nature, Kenneth never spoke a harsh word about anyone and was loved by all who knew him. He will be remembered as a sweet soul with a giving heart and a quiet strength that left a lasting impression on those around him.

Mr. Lyalls is survived by several cousins and many friends.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 2, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. John Elledge. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens with Masonic rites.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the funeral service at Ashelawn.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of Ashelawn Memorial Chapel, 3470 U.S. Highway 221 North, Jefferson, NC 28640.
