June Marie Riddle Poe

June Riddle Poe was a devoted servant of the Lord, loving Him with all her heart and all her might, and striving each day to walk faithfully in His will. Her life was a reflection of her deep and abiding faith, lived quietly yet powerfully through love, service, and unwavering trust in God. She passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at Generations Ashe Assisted Living. June was born on November 26, 1937 to the late Willard and Obie Tackett Riddle. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Jack Poe and several siblings.

June was a loving and wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, whose greatest joy was her family. She cherished gathering around the table for holiday meals, lovingly prepared and shared with those she held dear. These moments of togetherness were among her most treasured, filled with laughter, gratitude, and love.

She especially enjoyed road trips with her husband, Jack, accompanied by their beloved dog, creating memories along the way that she held close to her heart. June also found joy in working with her hands, particularly through doing ceramics, a hobby that reflected her creativity and patience. She found peace in gardening as well, and her hard work and care were beautifully evident in the gardens surrounding her home in Lansing.

Each morning, June treasured her quiet, sacred time spent reading her Bible in the early hours, drawing strength and guidance from God’s Word. Her faith was not only spoken but lived, and she often shared words of encouragement rooted in her love for the Lord.

Mrs. Poe is survived by: three daughters, Cathy Poe Barr of West Jefferson, Deborah Poe Church of Lansing and Tina Evelyn Poe of Lansing, two brothers, Bruce Riddle and Ernie Riddle of Kentucky, two sisters, Janice Bently and Nola Little of Kentucky, four grandchildren, Jeremy Barr and wife Carlee, Brandon Ashley, Daniel Barr and wife Heather, and Luke Wade Poe, one great-grandchild, Emma Barr and several nieces and nephews also survive.

In her own words, June leaves this message as a testimony of her life and faith: “Be what the Lord would have you be. Live in a manner to glorify Him (God). Always keep the faith. Let there be light.”

Her legacy of faith, love, and devotion will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
