Jean Denny

Jean Denny, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025 at her home. She was born on February 4, 1939 in Beckley, West Virginia to the late, Houston and Cliffie Asbury. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, William Doyle Denny and 11 of her brothers and sisters that had gone on before her. Jean had a deep love for the simple joys in life—she found happiness in painting, taking rides just to see where the road led, shopping trips, and stopping at yard sales to hunt for hidden treasures.

She loved her family, Jean will be remembered as a devoted mother, a caring grandmother, and a joyful great-grandmother.

Mrs. Denny is survived by one son, Frank Edward Denny and wife, Thresa of Lansing, one daughter, Helen Ann Bachtell and husband, John of Lansing, 5 grandchildren, Donna King, Savannah Greer, Christy Denny, Heather Carpenter and Robert Brown. Also surviving are 11 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 2:00pm at Gillespie Community Church by Rev. Cody Blair.
