Jack Richard Greer, age 78, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Gordon Hospice House in Iredell County. Jack was born on Saturday, August 10, 1946, in Watauga County, and was of the Baptist faith throughout his life. He worked in the furniture industry as supervisor at Broyhill Furniture and later retired from Comm Scope.

Jack cherished spending time with his family and truly loved making memories with them. He was married to his devoted wife, Linda Rice Greer, for 56 wonderful years. Together, they nurtured a loving family that continues to thrive. Jack is survived by his daughter, Tiffany Greer and her husband Daniel O'Malley, and his son, Patrick Greer. His legacy also lives on through his grandchildren, Mary Hope Wydner (Andrew) and Jake Greer, who were a source of immense pride and joy for him. In addition to his immediate family, Jack was also survived by one sister locally of Ashe County, Joyce Greer Barlow and her husband Boyd, as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members who all held a special place in his heart. His beloved dog, Gracie, was a faithful companion who brought him comfort and happiness.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Jackson Greer and Edna Ellen Greer, and his sisters, Theresa Greene and Lorene Rhymer.

An avid hobbyist, Jack found joy in woodworking, fishing, and fixing up cars, riding and racing motorcycles. His passion for these activities often reflected his detail-oriented personality and creative spirit. He was also a dedicated fan of Duke University, proudly supporting his team.

A Remembrance Gathering for family and friends will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 3:00 pm, at Jack’s home.

Jack will be remembered not only for his skills and hobbies but most importantly for the love and warmth he cultivated within his family. His presence will be greatly missed, but his spirit will live on in the memories of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
