Jack Benny Brown, age 75 of Creston, North Carolina passed away on April 2, 2024, at Margate Health and Rehab Center. Jack was born in North Carolina on November 8, 1948 to the late, James Paul and Edith Potter Brown. In addition to his parents Jack was also preceded in death by one brother, Bill Brown and one sister, Suzanne Church.  Jack's life was a testament to the values of simplicity, strength of will, and unwavering love for his family.

Jack was a man of simple pleasures, finding profound joy in the company of others. He could be found engaged in conversation with friends or simply enjoying the tranquility of his porch. His genuine love for people illuminated every interaction, leaving a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him.

During a time of great challenge, Jack answered his nation's call to duty with bravery and dedication. Serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, Jack exemplified the true meaning of service and sacrifice. His unwavering commitment to his country reflected his indomitable spirit and resolute character.

Yet, amidst his service to his nation, Jack's heart remained firmly rooted in his love for his family. He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones, finding profound fulfillment in their presence. His devotion knew no bounds, and his legacy of love will forever endure in the hearts of those he held dear.

Mr. Brown is survived by two daughters, Jade Osborne (Logan) of West Jefferson, Beth Bumgarner (Thomas) of North Wilkesboro, two sons, Mark Brown (Selena) of Purlear and Joey Brown (Amanda) of Asheville, two sisters, Ruth Bare of West Jefferson and Rita Brown of Creston. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Austin Brown, Caleb Bumgarner and Louisa Brown as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 5, 2024 at Badger Funeral Home from 11:00am-1:00pm.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital; 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Jack Benny Brown's memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, strength, and love will continue to inspire and guide us in the days ahead.
