Jack Allen Baldwin, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and esteemed member of his community, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at Ashe Memorial Hospital at 93 years old.  Mr. Baldwin was born on April 10, 1930 in Ashe County, North Carolina to the late, Wiley Cleve and Fannie Neaves Baldwin.  In addition to his parents Jack was also preceded in death by one sister, Bonnie Dean Howell and two brothers, Jesse Ray Baldwin and Darrel Baldwin.

Jack Baldwin served his country with honor in the United States Army during the Korean War, demonstrating courage and resilience in the face of adversity. His service was a testament of his unwavering commitment to defending the freedoms and values he held dear.

Following his military service, Jack embarked on his career as a lineman for Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation, where he dedicated 38 years of hard work and dedication. His commitment to excellence and reliability earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and customers alike.

Outside of his professional life, Jack found joy and fulfillment in the simple pleasures of life. An avid outdoorsman, he cherished moments spent hunting, fishing, and traveling. His adventures, particularly his trips to Nebraska for grouse hunting and visits to the beach, provided him with countless cherished memories and stories to share.

Jack's love for adventure extended to his hobbies, where he found exhilaration in riding motorcycles and gliding across the water waterskiing. His adventurous spirit inspired those around him and left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.

Also, a man of faith, Jack attended Pond Mountain Baptist Church, where he found community, and spiritual fulfillment. Jack leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will be forever treasured by his devoted wife, loving son, adoring grandson, brand new great-grandson and a multitude of friends and acquaintances whose lives he touched.

Mr. Baldwin is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Jessie Spencer Baldwin, one son, Rick Allen Baldwin and wife, Pat of West Jefferson, two sisters, Rose Mary Lewis of Morristown, TN and Donna Abad of Marion, VA, one brother, Jones Baldwin of Lansing, one grandson, Drew Baldwin and wife, Katelyn, one great-grandson, Reid Baldwin and sister-in-law, Shirley Baldwin of Lansing.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 11:00 am at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Elder Eddie Lyle and Elder Roger Williams with Military Rites.

The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am one hour prior to the service.

Graveside Services will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 at 2:00pm at the Spencer Family Cemetery.
