Gladys Louise Davis

Mrs. Gladys Louise Hensley Davis, 80, of Jefferson passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Westwood Hills Skilled Nursing Center. Gladys was born on December 26, 1944 in Madison County, NC to the late Matt Ennis Hensley and Alice Louise Grindstaff Hensley. Gladys is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lena Jo Cresey and brother, David Hensley.

She enjoyed going to church, and was a member of Mt. Jefferson Baptist Church. She also enjoyed singing to shut-ins. She was in the singing group, Joyful Noise out of NC. Gladys liked animals and enjoyed feeding the squirrels. During her working career, she enjoyed doing CNA work with Ashe Generations.

Gladys is survived by her daughter, Deborah Farmer and husband, Darrel of Jefferson; grandchildren, Darrin Farmer and wife, Brittney of Conover, K. Leah Coleman and husband, Eon of Cork, Ireland; great-grandchildren; Allison Riley Farmer, Caroline Grace Farmer, both of Conover; special niece, Felicia Creasey Watson of Greensboro; special friends, Mattie Black of Laurel Springs.

A Celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Mt. Jefferson Baptist Church in Jefferson, NC. Rev. Keith Casey will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Alzheimer’s Research, 225 N. Michigan Ave. Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
