Gary Lee

Charles "Gary" Lee age 73 of West Jefferson passed away Monday, November 27, 2023 at Amorem Hospice in Valdese following a 4 year battle with colon cancer.  Mr. Lee was born April 18, 1950 in Savannah, GA to the late Charlie B. and Juanita S. Lee.  In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his husband, Dr. Michael Yelton.  Mr. Lee served in the US Army from 1970-1973.

A gathering of remembrance will be held at a later date.

Mr. Lee is survived by two sons, Jared Yelton (Becky) of West Jefferson and Adam Yelton (Sarah) of Athens, GA, sister, Shirley Smith (Lynnwood) of Statesboro, GA, seven grandchildren, three nephews, Graylin, Corey and Dwaine and one niece, Jalaine.  Several great nieces and nephews also survive.
