Gail Vannoy Neaves departed this world on January 14, 2024 at the age of 66, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She was born on January 23, 1957, in Ashe County, North Carolina, to the late Billy Howard and Geneva Weaver Vannoy.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Gale Neaves.

Gail was a woman of kindness and warmth, known for her friendly demeanor and the enduring relationships she forged throughout her life. She found great joy in her faith, regularly attending church services. Her unwavering belief brought comfort and strength to those around her.

Family was at the center of Gail’s world, and she especially reveled in the love and laughter shared with her grandchildren. Their company brought her immense happiness, and she cherished every moment spent creating precious memories together.

Gail was more than a colleague; she was a true friend. Her lasting friendships with those she worked with spoke volumes about her character.

As we bid farewell to Gail Vannoy Neaves, we remember her for the love she gave, the friendships she cultivated, and the joy she brought into the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.

Mrs. Neaves is survived by three daughters, Lisa Neaves, Rebecca Neaves Miller (Jamie) and Brittany Nichole Neaves all of Jefferson, six grandchildren, Devin Davis, Kaylee Laws, Zach Laws, Tara Grace Absher, Jacob Absher and Adalyn Thomas.  Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, January 21, 2023 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Pastor Darin South.  Burial will follow in Orion Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm prior to the service.
