Frances Foreman Fuller Fredrick Lee Fuller Jr.
June 27, 1946 - November 27, 2023 May 17, 1953 - January 26, 2024
Frances Foreman Fuller entered this world in Lansing, NC on June 27, 1946, the eldest daughter of Rev. Kenneth J. Foreman, Jr. And Mary Frances Ogden “Chick” Foreman. She was three when her Father left for China to share the Good News with young tin miners whose life expectancy was 15. She was six when he returned in 1952. She grew up on the Korea mission field. At Seoul Foreign School, she helped to produce the School newspaper, blue stencils, mimeograph, and all. And she was Puck in “A Midsummer Night's Dream.”
In 1864, Fran was the first woman to solo a single engine fixed wing airplane in Korea. At Agnes Scott College, she was declared best horse woman her doggone year. She was a gifted teacher, and established, managed an alternative school for troubled youth in Fulton County, GA, before returning to Western North Carolina.
While earning an MS at Western Carolina, Fran worked a “side hustle” lifeguard position at the Juvenile Evaluation Center in Swannanoa into a director's position at the high security prison for juveniles in East Carolina. With a PhD in Criminal Justice, she worked until retirement at UNC-Pembroke.
It was hard not to like Fran, and Fred Fuller was the same. It was there in the Piedmont she met and married Fred Fuller, enjoying 22 happy years. Together they moved, wrapping up business and retiring to Lansing, making more friends, joining Phoenix Baptist Church, moving from here to eternity in the fall and then winter, the leaves turning, the trees bare.
Together they lived life looking forward not backwards, upward not downward until Fran’s death parted them on November 27, 2023. Fred died shortly thereafter on January, 26 2024. They rest from their labors.
Fran is survived by two brothers: Sam Foreman of Hattiesburg, MS and Joseph Foreman of Black Mountain, NC with many nieces and nephews.
Fred, an “only child”, is survived by many kinfolk in, around, and from Sprott, Alabama. Both had many friends from Fred’s work with the Fort Bragg Library and Fran’s work with Criminal Justice and the NRA.
A Memorial Service to honor both Fran and Fred will be held at a later date.
Thanks to all who have helped them to go rest high on the mountain in Lansing where our sister Carol Foreman was laid to rest, stillborn, back in 1948. We are thankful for the saints at Phoenix Baptist Church and the Lansing community who made them welcome in this part of their Journey.
Service will be held at a future date
