Emery Jerome Elliott, age 90 of West Jefferson, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2026 at Forest Ridge Assisted Living and Memory Care.

Emery was born in Charlotte, NC on October 31, 1935 to Lloyd Mack and Ashland Love Elliott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, William Lloyd Elliott, a brother, Grover Elliott and sister Caroleen Ferrell.

Emery was a Veteran of the United States Army. He worked as the manager of FCX in West Jefferson, NC for 15 years and owned and operated a dairy farm for over 20 years. Emery was a man of faith and was a member and Deacon at Pine Swamp Baptist Church. Emery loved the outdoors and enjoyed raising a garden as long as he was able.

Emery is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Shelba McNeill Elliott of West Jefferson; one son Tim Elliott of West Jefferson; three daughters; Donna Bare and Susan Roland of Jefferson and Kim Patterson of Greenville, IN; one sister Sybill Willis, of Morehead City, NC. Also surviving are six grandchildren; Crystal Linville, Chase Chatham, Ethan McCoy, Christopher Roland, Austin Whittington and Amber Whittington. Three great-grandchildren, Jocelynn Chatham, Harper Roland and Charlie Whittington and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Steve Viers officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Pine Swamp Baptist Church cemetery.
