Donna Sue Latham Osborne age 61 of Creston passed away, Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at her home. She was born in Ashe County on September 16, 1964 to the late Jessie Hugh Bill and Hazel Pauline Rash Latham. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Ivan Latham and a sister, Leona Mullis.
Donna Latham Osborne was a woman whose life was defined by strength, and an unwavering commitment to others. A natural caregiver in every sense of the word, Donna devoted herself to taking care of people—whether through her work as a registered nurse, her service as a member of the Volunteer Fire Department, or her constant presence for family, friends, and neighbors in times of need.
Donna was a hard worker with a fierce spirit. She was known for standing up for others, fighting for what was right, and putting the needs of those around her before her own.
Her love for her community extended beyond her professional service. Alongside her husband, Donna worked tirelessly to re-vamp and enhance the Creston Superette, filling an important need in the community. She especially enjoyed working in the deli, where her friendly presence and warm conversations made customers feel welcome and at home. The store became more than a business—it was a place of connection, much like Donna herself.
When she wasn’t caring for others, Donna found joy and peace in the simple pleasures of life. She had a true green thumb and took great pride in the flowers that surrounded her home, which were as vibrant and well-tended as the love she shared with those around her. She also enjoyed fishing and treasured time spent at the beach, especially Carolina Beach, where she loved fishing from the pier and soaking in the coastal air.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Wayne Osborne, son, Michael Latham (Vanessa) of Zionville. Daughter, Heather Munday (Joseph Woodall) of Wilmington, grandson, Justin Latham of Zionville, step-son, Steve Osborne (Amy) of Crumpler, step-daughter, Joy Logan (Hunter Hamm) of Utah, brother, Larry Latham (Shelia) of Creston, sister, Shelia Baker (Greg) of Vale, step-grandchildren, Tierney Logan, Kegan Logan, Landon Osborne and Cody Osborne, step great-granddaughter, Riley Osborne, a special niece that was more like a sister, Debbie Latham; several nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins also survive.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
Flowers will be accepted.
Donna Latham Osborne leaves behind a legacy of compassion, resilience, and selfless love. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the community she cared for so deeply.
