Dollie (Bostic) Pope

Dollie Bostic Pope, age 73 of Jefferson passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at her home. Mrs. Pope was born in Council, Virginia on September 28, 1950 to the late William and Roxie Johnson Bostic.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lester Pope, siblings, William Bostic Jr., Clyde Bostic, Shirley Johnson, Martha Martin and Ruth Bostic and granddaughter, Tiffany Johnson. Dollie dedicated her life to her family, her passions, and her work, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

For 26 years, Dollie was a dedicated and loyal employee at Sara Lee. Following her time at Sara Lee, Dollie spent 10 fulfilling years at B&B Swimwear. Her dedication earned her the respect and admiration of her coworkers and customers alike.

Dollie cherished the moments she spent with her family. She was a loving mother to her children and a devoted grandmother to grandchildren. Her family was her greatest source of joy, and her love and support knew no bounds.

Her love for gardening was evident to all who knew her. She found solace and joy in being outdoors and tending to her garden, her love for nature could be seen in every inch of it.

Mrs. Pope is survived by, one daughter, Kimberly Pope Johnson and husband, Willie of Jefferson, five sisters, Hazel Duty, Nola Wilson and Judy Ball all of VA, Ollie Livesay of TN and Betty Roten of Laurel Springs, two brothers, Perry Bostic and Raymond Bostic both of VA, four grandchildren, Misty Simmons, Jay Johnson, Josh Johnson and Jordan Johnson, five great-grandchildren,  Desiree Smith, A.J. Simmons, Bellamy Johnson, Adrian Portilla and Braxton Portilla, five great-great-grandchildren, Khloe Smith, Kaylan Smith, Kennedy Smith, Kenzley Smith, Kolton Smith and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside Services will be held on Monday, October 16 at 1:00pm at the Mahala Cemetery by Rev. Lloyd Day.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Badger Funeral Home from 7:00-8:30pm.
